What is microneedling?
Microneedling, is also known as collagen induction therapy. The microneedling procedure involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny sterile needles. We use an FDA cleared device to create micro-injuries which stimulates the body’s wound healing processes to rejuvenate the skin. Microneedling is safe for all skin types. The procedure is minimally invasive with virtually no down-time. Microneedling results in rejuvenation and restoration of the skin. A glowing, brighter, softer complexion can be seen as early as 72 hours after treatment.
Benefits of microneedling include:
- Skin pigmentation
- Shrinks pore size
- Stretch marks
- Sun damage
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Hair loss
The microneedling procedure takes 15-20 minutes to perform. Most people will need 3-6 treatments spaced 1 month apart to see effects. Ninety percent of clinical trial subjects reported improvement in the appearance of facial acne scars over time and would recommend microneedling to family and friends.
How much does microneedling cost?
Microneedling is priced per session or can be bundled with several sessions for cost savings. In the Las Vegas area, each session can cost between $300-600. All clients require numbing cream prior to microneedling. Numbing cream is complimentary.
How long does microneedling last?
The effects of microneedling are not permanent. After several sessions of microneedling, remodeling of skin can last up to a year. Results vary for each individual. Collagen will degenerate over time so in order to maintain effects, maintenance treatments are necessary.
What is the recovery time after microneedling?
After microneedling the skin will appear pink to red and resemble and feel like a mild sunburn for 24-72 hours. Common side effects might include: stinging, burning, tightness, dryness, itching, tenderness or peeling of the skin. These effects are temporary and resolve in a short amount of time. The treating clinician can recommend products to off set side effects while your skin is healing.
